Ever wonder how creativity really fits into the curriculum? Bring your hats and Engage! in a hands-on design challenge, created to draw on learners creativity, collaboration, documentation and reflection skills.
- Discuss documentation and reflection in general (teacher hat).
- Get in and do a quick lego challenge, documentation, and reflection (student hat)
- Discuss the strengths of multimodal tools (teacher hat)
- End with time to peruse and discuss a set of student-created examples, considering how they relate and connect to classroom content (student & teacher hats)
*This session would require participants to bring a laptop, or to be held in a computer lab

  • Be sure to include an opportunity for students to practice/employ a 21Ct or !gnite skill (see examples below)
    • general example: this is an activity that asks students to "retell" information, and is general enough to be applied across the curriculum
    • more specific example: this is an activity connected with 3rd grade Science - circuits & electricity
  • What GLCE's or other objectives does this activity/lesson project meet?
  • Please include at least one !gnite objective here as well (communication with text and non-text resources, collaboration, higher order thinking skills, problem solving, etc.)
How will you assess the students learning?
